Librarians
Librarians: Molly and Lilyanah (Y1/2), Maggie and Elena (Y3/4), Joseph and Lola (Y5/6)
Our Librarians play a vital role in nurturing a love of reading and learning across our school. They encourage pupils to explore a wide range of books, authors, genres and styles, helping children to discover new interests and develop a lifelong enjoyment of reading.
Librarians will help to promote and celebrate reading for pleasure by sharing book recommendations with their peers and supporting our ‘Recommended Read’ section during Celebration Assembly. They will encourage pupils to talk about their favourite books, recommend stories to others and share their enthusiasm for reading with the wider school community.
Our Librarians will also support the organisation of themed reading activities and events throughout the academic year, such as World Book Day, author visits and other book-related celebrations. They will help to create engaging opportunities for pupils to discover new books and celebrate the joy of reading.
As part of their role, Librarians will also help to care for and organise our school library, encouraging pupils to respect books and keep the library a welcoming, accessible space for everyone. Through their leadership, they will help to develop a strong culture of reading, curiosity and learning across Bridgewater Park.
