Mrs Platt

Mrs Baldock

School Direct Teacher

Welcome to The Euros Class!

Mrs Platt and Mrs Baldock are really excited to be teaching Year 4 and have a fantastic year full of interesting topics planned! This began with our first topic, 'The Groovy Greeks', which focused on greek artefacts, the daily life  and comparing Greece now and then.

We are now looking at 'The Angry Earth' and how Volcanoes and Earthquakes are formed and what impact they have. We are looking at how they happen and recreating our own volcano - which will hopefully erupt!

We'll be using this website to share lots of information with children and parents, including galleries showcasing our learning, letters and calendar dates.

  • Children will count up and down the Richter scale in tenths.
  • Children will create a survival kit and calculate how much would be needed for multiples of 2,3,4,5 and 8 people.
  • Children will calculate how long earthquakes last in house, minutes and seconds.

  • Children will look at how big events have an impact on our lives and how we can handle loss of loved ones and big changes in different ways.
